However, certain errors can compromise compliance and lead to additional costs. To avoid unpleasant surprises during inspection, it&#8217;s important to be aware of the most common pitfalls.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Neglecting grounding<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The absence or incorrect installation of earthing is one of the most common errors. Effective earthing protects against electric shock and allows leakage currents to escape. It is mandatory and must be checked with a specific measuring device to verify its resistance.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Installing a non-compliant electrical panel<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An outdated or poorly organized switchboard can be a reason for non-compliance. To comply with standards, it must include : <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A general circuit breaker to cut off the power supply in the event of a problem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Circuit breakers adapted to each circuit (sockets, lighting, specific appliances).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Differential switches to detect current leaks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Well-organized wiring with correctly identified circuits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Failure to comply with these requirements may result in refusal of the certificate of conformity.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Do not observe cable cross-sections<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each circuit must be supplied by a cable with a cross-section suitable for the power of the devices connected. A common mistake is to use cables that are too thin, which can cause overheating and increase the risk of fire. Here are some recommendations:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lighting: 1.5 mm\u00b2 cables with 10A circuit breaker.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standard sockets: 2.5 mm\u00b2 cable with 16A circuit breaker.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific equipment (oven, washing machine, hob, recharging point): 4 mm\u00b2 cables or larger with suitable circuit breakers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Do not install differential protection<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residual-current switches are mandatory to protect occupants against the risk of electrocution. A circuit without differential protection will not comply with current standards. We recommend installing at least :  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An AC differential for conventional circuits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A type A differential for circuits dedicated to household appliances (washing machine, hob).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Incorrect positioning of sockets and switches<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sockets and switches must comply with specific rules, particularly in terms of height and safety in damp rooms:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In bathrooms, sockets must be installed at a minimum distance from water points (safety volume standard).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a living room or bedroom, it&#8217;s advisable to install a sufficient number of sockets to avoid excessive use of multiple outlets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Forget about inspection by an approved body<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A common mistake is to carry out the upgrading work without the compulsory inspection by an approved body (Vin\u00e7otte, OCB, BTV&#8230;).
