If the installation does not comply with the RGIE, the buyer has 18 months from the date of purchase to bring it into line. A non-compliant installation can lead to the risk of damage and impact the value of the property.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the penalties for non-compliance?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A non-conforming electrical installation may be grounds for refusal of connection to the grid by the electricity company.
