Among the most common causes : <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current leakage to earth, incorrectly detected or unprotected<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A faulty socket or switch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A poorly insulated household appliance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Absent or faulty grounding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Moisture in the electrical installation<br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In any case, it&#8217;s never normal. A single shock can be enough to cause cardiac arrest, especially in children, the elderly or those with high body humidity. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to do immediately after an electric shock<\/h2>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assess the person&#8217;s condition<br\/>Even if the person is feeling well, it is advisable to consult a doctor, especially in the event of prolonged sensation, muscle pain, burning or loss of consciousness (even if brief).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify the source of the shock<br\/>Identify the location or equipment involved: plugged-in appliance, wall socket, light fixture, switch, hot water tank, etc.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Switch off the power supply to the circuit concerned<br\/>Switch off the corresponding circuit breaker, or even the general power supply if you have any doubts about the origin.
